DAY 3HReeday of surprise
met Eunice in the morning on the bus journey to AMK station. she's studying in SIM now, doing business degree. then, at ED, got a shock to see Gia Ling on duty as assistant radiographer! apparently it's a temporary full-time job she got online to pass time before starting her degree course. `qoo! had a good time chatting with her about mdm wu! wahahaa and SJCband too.
my morning was spent mostly on chatting with Shu wah, a senior from NYP, talking about school and how bad/bias some of the lecturers are. she gave us tips on how to cheat on our competency reports too. ha`haa! and i managed to do 1 of the 7 required competencies today under her.
qooooooooo! all of us had free lunch today. cos the hosp had some celebrations fer the staff so we joined in too. ha`haa free buffet, movie sessions in the hosp & movie snacks like popcorn & kacang puteh. count us lucky. thanks to Mdm Koo, dept-IC of ED who brought us there during lunch, of not we would have spent it at the expensive food-court. thot we were the only ones but apparently not, the RTs are there too. hahahaa. qooo. so we ate & talked & played with the balloons ..
as usual, the period after LUNCH was the highlight of the day, esp today with two of our seniors from NYP on duty. Billy & Chengwu. did a hands-on on an old male patient at the resuscitation area (not rhesus i realise. opps!) postitioning of AP sitting chest, centering the ray & doing the exposure. `thumbs up from Chengwu. yay! =) there's always a whole new experience at the resuscitation area. LiJia & me did not know that the patient, we were standing back-faced to when we did the exposure, had alr passed away. wouldnt have known it if Billy din not tell us after we left the place. apparently he showed me the "dead sign" whilst we were in there but i was too blurr to understand what he meant. `bish "din you see the nurse was wrapping him up" he said. he gave us alot of tips on doing our competency reports & experience too.

i really wanna thank the radiographers at EDept fer giving me chances to practise hands-on, esp Chengwu fer the resuscitation case. i definitely gained alot more confidence now which is one impt point they keep stressing to us.
